"Due to circumstances beyond our control we cannot currently take orders online. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. -Fopp Webteam"

Their staff aren't being paid this month, some stores were closed unannounced for a day this week and they're in danger of going into administration. I thought this would happen after they purchased half the Music Zones, but not this soon...

My local Music Zone (Hanley) has been pretty crap since Fopp took over though, and the Newcastle-under-Lyme one was bought by Fopp and closed again shortly after.

Interesting, I guess I'd better head down to my local Fopp and see if there are any bargains to be had as it sounds very much like the writing is on the wall there which is a shame.

Well that looks to be it for Fopp then. That's sad really, I get off the bus in Nottingham right outside the Fopp here, and have picked up plenty a bargain from there in the past.

I guess it just highlights the effect online stores and music downloads has on the high street stores.

Shame that, but a sign of the times I suppose.

:(

does that mean they're raising there prices to match HMV's? if so they'll fail as well. I want the fopp site back, it was nice to use and cheap :(

No, they're letting FOPP continue as it did before, but HMV are just getting the profits, as they will own them :)

Woo Nottingham Fopp is coming back. I don't shop there much but it was somewhere to kill time whilst I waited for the bus.
