I can't justify the price of an 8800GTX, 8800GTS @ £200ish is just total bang for buck!

I used to have a ninja in my case. It fitted just fine. I think the Solo is the same size

After switching from a Scythe Ninja Plus to a Noctua U12F, I feel compelled to recommend the latter.

It's smaller than the Scythe Ninja Plus and performs better, not to mention that the fan is much quieter.

Is there much differnts between the 8800gts 320mb and the 640mb am ordering the 320 version and am over my budget as it is

What resolution do you play at and how much AA/AF do you expect to use?

The 320MB version is generally fine up to 1600x1200/1680x1050 but don't expect miracles with AA/AF.

19" widescreen LCDs are usually 1440x900.

The GTS 320MB should be able to cope with that easily as it's actually about the same size as 1280x960, but personally I would go for the GTS 640MB anyway for good measure as you'll get more AA/AF and other eye candy.

Is there a big difference between the 640Mb GTS and the 64Mb GTS OC? Is the same level of overclocking available on the non-OC?

Yeah, theres about 576mb between em.

The overclock is very slight on the OC version, the non clocked version will easily get to those speeds and beyond, so if you can clock, you may as well save a bit and do it yourself.

Just got my BFG GTX for £285 delivered! Absolutely awesome card! Running @ stock everything (C2D in sig is a lie as since i've upgraded to my 680i i've got it sat @ 2.4ghz! :rolleyes:

) and it eats up stalker, oblivion, Quake 4, Doom 3, Fear and everything else i've thrown at it!

Absolutely love it! Plus i'm gonna clock the nadgers off it when my HR-03 arrives! :cool:

Ive got the 320 Mb version running at 1440x900. The only thing Ive found so far that it struggles with is oblivion with all the mods here and thats only when the natural enviroments mod realy kicks in with the weather combined with the hugh texture mod. fps drop to 30 ish.
I only played stalker a bit when it first came out, no updates or driver updates. Was fine tbh, that first bit as you come up the stairs was around 50 fps, cant remember how much AA and AF I was using tho.

Every game dev should have a look on Farcrys Cryengine.. I think its the most efficient engine I´ve seen. And looks great even now :eek:
