For those who are interested - After one year and...

TBH when you spend £X ammount on a BMW, you would probably expect more from a dealer than when you buy a Fiesta :)

Yeah, how deluded was I expecting decent customer service after buying a new car from them :p
I doubt I'll buy a new car again. I bought this one new as it was what I wanted and I'm glad I have experienced it but unless something brand new comes out that I want badly enough, I can't see myself buying new ever again. In fact, the service seems worse than if I had brought in an older car as their policy on warranty repairs seems to be strange.

experienced what excactly? new smell of leather or something? :p

I don't know about other people but from ordering the car I had a wait of almost 5 months until it was delivered. I counted the days, hours minutes and seconds. It was like being a kid waiting for Christmas again, only 100x better. I couldn't sleep for the week before picking it up for the excitement.
It was a big thing for me because I promised myself that if I got over all the hurdles to get to the position I'm at now that I'd treat myself to a brand new car. It was kind of a symbol that I'd achieved a goal. That may sound stupid to the vast majority of you (and many of the long legged horse jockeys made this known when I posted about getting the car) but to be quite frank, I bought the car for myself, not to impress internet strangers :p

Exactly. When you work your arse off to get to a certain position, it's nice to treat yourself to something special. You wouldn't have had anywhere near that excitement just buying second hand.

:)

It's a nice car but I just don't see the point of it without the convertible top, all the sacrifices of a sports car but with a lot less benefits.

Have you tried experimenting with different wheel tyre combos? I notice a huge difference in ride quality between running MV1s/runflats and my stock 16" wheels.
