Forceware 162.15 Beta

The same could be said of ATI...It was only about a month or two ago that ATI released some vista drivers which they then had to release a fix to stop them crashing vista...

Plus the drivers for the x1900 cards were useless for about the first 4 to 6months...i had to use powerstrip to get them to support different widescreen res..

You can even forget about ATi releasing a miracle Dx10 performing driver when Crysis appears to, not if they both still cant get their Dx9 performance sorted in 5+ month old Vista yet, and not when Dx9 games have been around for years either, hell Dx10 games are not even here yet lol, so no way will they drop a miracle Dx10 Vista driver as soon as the games appear, a lot of ppl are gona be dissapointed with the performance, as they are expecting it to be absolutely blinding in that first ever DX10 game that appears, oh dear.

Yes it is, but is it like Crysis, or is it just more like Dx9 with Dx10 bolted on, if its like Crysis does it run at a superb 60+ in Dx10, or are we still getting the 30-40's, and sometimes teens in heavy areas, if so why has the miracle driver not been released yet, why are they waiting for the likes of Crysis etc... before dropping it (supposedly).

I have no idea what it runs or looks like yet...
As it going to take me about 3 hours just to install it, because steam is updating it very very slowly

hmmm after many annoyed random 'nv4 driver has stopped working' I have decided to go back to the 158.22's for now (win xp 32bit here).

ruddy annoying as the performance in stalker was much better than before.

Strange, these drivers are the best i've used so far, no crashes, BSOD's or other. As said above, Stalker plays better than ever with them too....

This is what I found until today whereby I have had no end of crashes and blue screens (nv4 errors). Its odd though as up until today everything has been fine.

I been playing lost planet (retail) in DX10 with these drivers for about the last 40minutes with no problems....(in vista 64bit)

decent fps?
At 1920x1200 with all settings set to high (not shadows) FPS = about avg 45fps (i can't remember if i had AA set to 2x or off)

But if you turn on shadows to high quality FPS = about 16fps

Not too bad, guess my GTS will be okay at 1280x1024 then, thanks for the info

With the rig in sig, stock CPU (I know, i'll get round to it sooner or later :o) 8800GTS 640 at 615/960 (1920) running at 1280x1024, maxed out, FPS is never less than 55. (Am in Pripyat atm) Oh and i am running the Float32 mod too.

Does that sound right? I am very please with how it runs, better than i thought it would. :)

The Float32 mod helps, i noticed quite a difference with it.

Screeny below i know i am looking slightly upwards but its the only shot i got atm.
