Forceware 169.17

Did anyone notice a slight stutter every few mins in CSS? Especially when you're switching between handgun/main gun

Sorry, didn't wanna offend anyone. I'de still rather see an improvement in all games though and the Vista drivers still need some work.

Its got to the point where NV, ATI, MS and game devs can't agree on a standard way of doing things. To the point where we almost have a specific driver setup for every game, and NV and ATI always work on the current most popular game i.e. Crysis

The idea of having games profiles in the drivers is not just about saving your settings - it's also about implementing workarounds for features that didn't work with the drivers initially. For example using certain shaders that don't work properly with some implementations of AA, i.e. Oblivian, Bioshock DX10.

We need to get away from this and have a one driver fits all scenario.

These drivers are really annoying me

I have two screens - a 2407 in landscape and a 2005w in portrait

In the last set of forceware's I was easily able to set these up with max resolution on each just as I like them (shouldnt really be an issue - 1920*1200 on the left and a 1050*1680 , due to portrait, on the right)

these new forceware's will only allow my 2407 at max res on its own as a solitary device, if I want two screens the drivers only seem to allow a similar size desktop on both screens, ie wasting resolution on my main screen downsizing to 1680*1050

I was only installing these in preparation of my new EVGA 8800GT arriviing grrrr

edit - I have sorted it now, for some reason even though Windows knew my primary monitor was the 2407, the dvi for that monitor was on secondry connector , which I dont think the drivers liked (they also didnt like swapping dvi's over with windows loaded, before I have certainly been able to do this and the display would automatically swap but not with these)

a lot of off topic banter in this thread - are people seeing any improvement with these set of drivers? In single card setups?

Thanks for telling me, I am not gonna use this driver if thats the case in css. Are you sure its this driver?

I doubt theres any difference over the .13's as these only came out a day, or 2x days after em, i aint bothering as the .13's are only the .09's but with that that Crysis SLi added, so of no use to me, or anyone with single card, not if you have 09's on as they gona be the same. :p
