Forceware 174.82 XP 32bit, Vista 32/64bit, ALL CARDS

Will these Forceware drivers work for the DELL XPS M1530 Geforce Laptop 8600 DDR3 card?

Would much prefer these to the DELL drivers that it came with!

Should do as they are modded lappy drivers. :)

What benefits do these give over standard nvidia drivers?

They are the same as the standard drivers, as all Nvidia's drivers are universal, will work the same on any card (if the card you want to run them on is listed in the .inf), main benefit they give is, is they contain newer fixes, as being a newer (the latest) set. :)

They work fine for me in XP, as good as the 174.74 beta's.

As they will work with my Laptop I will definatly give these drivers a go, as the dirvers with my current 8600M card must be really outdated!

Whats the best procedure to remove my current drivers and then install these drivers? Just install these straight over the top of them?

Just go Add/Remove, remove the Nvidia Display, then boot into safe-mode and run DriverCleaner pro to remove any leftovers, then reboot normally, cancel the Found New Hardware Wizard that pops up, and install new drivers. :)

You can get DriverCleaner here if you aint already got it :-

If you don't have a Nvidia chipset mobo, then you can use Driver Sweeper instead which is easier (as Driver Sweeper removes the LAN driver on Nvidia chipset boards as well as some other files, as they have other drivers named the same as some that you need to remove for your card, but it won't in the new version thats coming though).

just do same as above, Add/Remove Nvidia display, then just reboot normally, cancel Found New Hardware Wizard, then run Driver Sweeper to remove the leftovers, then once its done just install yor new ones, no need to go into safe-mode with this one, great little program as well, been using it here for a while now. :)

Before I go off and do this, does Vista Ultimate 64 have a "Safe Mode"?

I have got a DELL XPS M1530, not sure if these lappys have got a Nvidia Mobo?

I think its an Intel, and i also think Vista does have a safe-mode (not sure as ive never used it). :)

EDIT: It does have a safe-mode, just asked Willhub as he's using it. :D

I dont believe that DELL would be using the Nvidia Chipset drivers as there mobo, so I will use the Driver Sweeper as I have never liked the idea of having to boot up into Safe Mode.

I assume that using Driver Sweeper is as good as using Driver Cleaner Pro, just saves time and makes life easier?
