Forcing 8xAA in BF2

Sound like ** ram is filled with junk instead of battlefield files, makign it use virtual ram from hdd instead.
Slow hdd = caused by fragmentation
Clean ** ram to get more ram space free for gaming...
When you alt tab out of battlefield, what ammount of ram is used?

408mb when in the bf2 menu. On defrag it says its not fragmented but theres lots of little red lines (not chunks though)

DFI ultra-D
Opteron [email protected]
X1800XT 256mb
2gb Gskill HZ
Audigy 2zs

with all highest settings and only 2xAA at the start of maps it runs really crappy, like very jerky/laggy but at a really high fps.

what up with it?

got same spec except [email protected] I run max setttings 4*AA 1680x1050 no problems whatsover

VenT - I used diskeeper and it seems to have worked a bit. I run in 1400x900 maxed with 4xAA and its high fps still but with only a little jerkyness at the start.

In sound options im using software and medium on my audigy 2zs. Should I use hardware? I also went down to basic acceleration to try and get DOD source to work but it didnt so ill go back to full acceleration

edit - has the new patch brough some nice additional graphics in the form of large black blocks around text, crosshairs and other things?
