My cheapo Korean 1440p doesn't have a scaler, so it can only display at 1440p.
I want to be able to use it as my main display when at home and plugging my laptop in.
Problem is, the laptop does give me an option to adjust the resolution of the monitor, it just about notices that I have plugged in a monitor at all.
I have a Clevo P640RE, and I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the onboard graphics getting miffy with the 970M.
I have 2 miniDP, one is connected to the onboard, the other directly to the 970M. When I plug my miniDP to DVI adaptor in one, nothing happens, the other, it registers that I have connected a monitor, but I can't access any settings, and thus the 1080p being fed means the monitor just stays blank.
Would downscaling to 1440p on my laptop display (if even possible) sort this is terms of getting them both active so I can have separate resolutions for each screen?
