Ford Cougar 2.0 16v

Best looking car Ford have ever released in the UK IMHO. Shame about the engines they put in them :(
 
I think they should have put the 2.5 in instead of the 2.0 and had the 3.0 instead of the 2.5, even an ST engine would have been better for the Cougar in my opinion, even got Cosworth to power it, it looks gorgeous, just doesn't have the engine to match the looks, sheep in wolf's clothing :(
 
It a nice looking car, and OK to drive with the 2.5v6 our of the ST24, it was too old a car to have the more modern powerplants. Its cheap as chips now, so not a bad buy.Other option would be the gorgeous 406 coupe.Same story witht he engines there tho:(
 
Me ex has a 2.5v6. It's an OK car with decent equipment but the seats are damn uncomfortable (base is too hard) and at the end of the day, it's a mk2 Mondeo.
It's horrible to work on though. Silly things like having to take the headlamp units out to change a bulb. The flaps are there to do it from behind but they are fouled by engine gubbins so you can't use them.
Personally, I'd get a mk2 Mondeo instead and save a bunch of cash for a nice hifi install, or some tuning stuff.

Which ST engine? The cougar came out quite a long time before the 2.5T ST...

Or do you mean the 2.0 170-ish BHP Focus MK1 ST?
 
Or... He means the 2.5 v6 st200 mk2 mondeo engine or 3.0 v6 st220 mk3 mondeo engine .....

Cougars look cool but as stated are comically priced
