ford Focus price check

prefer the facelift version which came in 2002 iirc. as said, plenty around... would go for one with alloys at least :p

i got myself another focus ghia a 2000 model for £1600. with 65Kmiles on it. it also has a few scratches on the rear bumper but nothing serious.. I can touch it up easily. The most important thing is that the car runs great :)

Will do, when i get home,, this one too has no alloys but i am not bothered by that. I got fed up of looking and really needed to get a car quick as the clutch on my old car went.
I need to replace the stereo on it too with one that plays MP3 CDs. It has the 6000 stereo with the steering wheel controls. Will after market car steroes be compatible with this steering wheel controls?

my old car was worth nothing, a 1998 mitsubishi carisma with 134K miles on it.. there were others things i had to change as well to get it working properly. Also fancied a change after having the carisma for about 5 years.

Thanks BigDannyO, so I'll need that, a ISO adapter and facia adapter is that correct?

Actually i have been looking for a while, saw lots of focuses, mondeos and civics. I am happy with the car i got and the price i paid which is most important to me.

I think you'll also need one of these patch leads, depending on which head unit you buy.

Please don't think I was having a dig at your purchase, just curious was all. Congrats on the news car :)

Thanks again mate... god thats like £60 or so just for adapaters and wires.. then the cost of a new stereo on top of that grrrrrrr :D

Yeah it soon gets expensive, looked into doing it a while back and soon changed my mind. Will just stick to CDs for the time being! :D

Yeah, only because when I got the car only one speaker wasn't blown. At the moment I have some Hertz comps and coaxials and they are good for the money. Well I tell a lie, the hertz comps are still in the box at home and I currently have some rubbish Clarion speakers at the front but I'm going to swap them soon :) My hertz 13cm coaxials at the rear are quite good but I'm putting some 6x9s on my custom build stealth shelf for a quick bass fix.

If you've got an ipod, you can get one of these
I have one for my Focus and I'm pleased with it. No need for a new head unit and only takes a few minutes to install and you can use the steering column controls with it. Also less likely to get broken into as there is no shiny new stereo on display.

It still doesn't get round the fact the the factory head unit is totally useless and it's £75 to add iPod functionality to a poor head unit or you can get an iPod ready headunit with a much better amp for £125.

how easy is it to install.. I'd be more interested in getting the mp3 adapter so I can use more than just my ipod.. my i-river mp3 player as well?

Pretty simple, you just need the stereo removal pins.

As I say, money is better spent on a better headunit, if you enjoy music enough to pay £75 for an iPod adaptor then you will feel the benefit of a better headunit.

the mp3 adapter just costs £48.95.. thats less than all the adapters i will need to put in a new unit though
