If you live in the norwich area and have been job hunting, you may have noticed a job for ford insure. If so do not apply for it. Well if you hate yourself and the world around you then be my guest.
I work there. Its an aviva/norwich union company. They do a 7 day drive away insurance for new cars. At the end of every month we get about 80 people in the telephone cue. So its call after call of people who dont want to buy insurance, dont really want to speak to you and dont tend to listen. Just saying becuase they are now taking on 27 more staff. But the good news on tuesday is that they have lost the ford contract. But we'll still be doing it till september. Fortunately Im now moving over to RAC\Norwich union van insurance.
Its one of these jobs that makes people walk out. Unfortunately I have bills and a mortgage to pay so Im stuck. Well was till I got the new department. Anyone here ever bought a ford and called us?

You have no idea about contact centres and call queues if you think that 80 people waiting is a hardship![]()
I do 35 hours a week at my current pay level Im £14850 next one up which I should get easily is just over £16k.Whether the queues are bigger or not theres not many of us so it means theres a constant flow of customers. And each call can last between 15-30 minutes. Trying to sell to people like the guy above who can't be sold too. We don't see a price untill we get to the end. So of course we have to try on each call. I'd love to work in a call centre where me keeping my job didn't rely on selling.
Most of the time each price is 100,200,400 or thousands way over their best price. Its soul destroying as one of my colleagues says.
