Why you would want a KA over something like this i will never know --->

2000 FORD FIESTA 1.25 Zetec 5dr Hatchback,
45,000 miles, Red. PAS, Trip computer, Rear wiper, Drivers airbag, Central locking, Immobiliser, cd player. 1 years tax & m.o.t. £2,500. ono

I agree the Ka is ok as a town car but the engine is naff.

I drove my moms Ka once, that was enough, would never drive one again, horrible handling on corners...

Like being at sea !!!!

im shocked you said that...

Ihad a 1.3 ka hire car, and it was a giggle a minute.. granted I was killing the poor thing, but it was pretty cool fun round corners :D

I drive the Girl Friends KA several times a week and for a town runabout it's great. nippy enough, nice to drive. It's nothing special, but for a cheap runabout I like it.

For 2500 you could get a k11 Nissan Micra, great reliability, the 1.3s are really quick, just a good looking tried and tested car really. I got my K11 1.0 last week and I'm chuffed to bits.

I owned a sport Ka for about 8 months and it was great fun to drive, it really held well round the B roads, had some great fun thrashing it round derbyshire. The interior is fairly roomy for a small city car but theres lots of cheap plastic everywhere. I would choose one over the fiesta everytime (each to their own i suppose).

Its a OK car, nippy is a good term for the car, put so much cheapyness inside the car, dashboard looks like a kid designed it and it looks like ford have tried to save money on plastic door cards and just half how the door in the choosen body colour.

Steering wheel looks hideous

Erm i've got a 0-60 time of 11.6 seconds ere with a 75bhp engine, perhaps thats quick compared to my lawnmower.......

Well to be honest yes they are quick, he wants a hatchback for <2500, lets not compare it to gti's now. They've got a solid 16v engine, light as anything, they fly when you put your foot down.

just got back from a test drive.

Liked it a lot, nice easy car to drive should suit her down to the ground.

Got it for £2200 with service, mot and 6 months tax and 1 years warranty (not that thats worth anything).

Picking it up on Friday.

Lets get things in context, words like fly / super fast / quick do not apply to a 1.3s Micra they are reserved for things not powered by something with equal power to my washing machine, hatefully words such as nippy apply in this situation.

Have you actually even been in anything remotly quick?

Well done on the purchase btw was this the first car you looked at?

I had loked at a few and had a look at the various prices etc. Also looked at alternatives eg clio

The added bonus it the garage I got it from is just round the corner so there is no problems re faults etc and I have bought 2 cars from him in the past and my sister has also bought a car from him so I think I am getting a good deal although with cars you can never tell.

She seems pleased with it as well. Lots or brownie points etc.

Excellent but i bet it wasn't 2500 quid though. Odviously my comments where on the one i drove which by the sounds of it was a Bobby Basic. :D

Also i would say they looked Gay not Cute. :p

I got my w reg one 2 years ago for £1100 with 27k on it, full leather, air con, cd alloys, power windows.

It required one tyre and an oil change in 20,000 miles since.

The Ka is immense fun to fling around, crisp steering and sharp handling.

Shame it's powered by an engine made of pig iron that develops 3bhp. A 1.25 Zetec is all it would really need to make it more lively :(

Dropping a more powerfull zetec in post 2000 models apparently is not all that difficult.

Buying a bargain with a bust motor and dropping in anything up to a 1.8 in there sounds fun.

You cant use a 2.0 as its wrecks the gearbox.
