what price range are you looking at? (and I am NOT going to assume the £18k RRP!)

Unless its bargaintastic cheap I would steer away from the Zetec as they depreciate even more heavily than other Mondeo trims (except for Edge.....but who would buy that?)

If its a personal purchase I would be looking at 08/58 Plates. Easily £8k+ saving off RRP if you look at Titanium X models.

i looked at the titanium models but the ones im finding are 6 months old with 15k miles on and still 15k for a 1.8 model. Zetecs for about 13000 with similar mileage.

id be looking to keep the car for 3-5 years and only do 7-8k miles pa so would be buying 2nd hand with twice my annual mileage on it.

price wise im looking at 15-16k.

mondeo *i think* after my prolonged chat im being offered at 15.5k.

i need a big car for the growing family. ive currently got a vauxhall astra 06 plate.

Why diesel with only 7-8k miles per year? however i am not sure what they 2.0l petrol is like in the new mondeos. Hvae you thought about a mazda 6? similar price, usually better spec, roughly same performance.

My initial thought is that the diesel is a poor choice for such low mileage BUT the 2.0 litre petrol Mondeo has a totally crap engine in it. I was hugely dissapointed with it, it acheived 30mpg over the sort of journey my 530 gets 30mpg, it offered little in the way of performance and sounded like a wasp trapped in a biscuit tin.

Somebody on here bought a delivery mileage 2.5T Titanium X for less than £13k. I'd be looking this way if I was you.

Check out Archers of Ashby website, loads of ex management cars with all options ticked and seems to be well priced also.
