Ford Powershift Gearbox Issue

I bought a 2011 Mondeo Titanium X Sport in January. When I was going through the final stuff before leaving, the dealer said I should be careful when switching from Drive to Reverse, as you need to do it slowly in stages with a Powershift gearbox or it will jolt.

I found this strange as the car I currently had (2011 Focus) was also a Powershift and I could move the stick straight from Reverse to Drive and vice versa with no issue at all.

During the 3 month warranty period, on occasion, when I would stop, apply brake and move the gear down to reverse (slowly) the car would violently jolt. My brother reminded me what the dealer had said and I just assumed it was bad form on my part.

Now the warranty has expired this is really annoying me. Last night I reversed onto my drive, pushed the brake down hard and the car jolted violently just moving it into Neutral on the way to Park.

I have searched intensely on the net for any mention of this 'feature' or issue and I cannot find anything. I cannot believe I was that gullible. The car was so lovely, I just assumed it was a different kind of gearbox and I would learn to operate it correctly.

Obviously I have no comeback with the dealer now but has anyone ever heard of a gearbox operating in such a way?
Thanks

Sure.

My thoughts on the Powershift Gearbox right now. I could cover the £2352 but I just know they will say the TCM needs replacing too.

I have a Mondeo Titanium X Sport. It's in beautiful condition inside and out - yet I will probably have to scrap it because of this, as I will be unable to pass this on to anyone else.

Bah Humbug!

And now :D
