Spurred on by the demo of Eternal Sonata only available in the US/Japan, I decided to have a poke around the international arena on Xbox Live. So I created a new gamertag, registered a made-up address in Japan and got access to the Japanese marketplace.
They've got about 60-odd demos up there so I grabbed Eternal Sonata. Downloaded it and it comes up in English. I then changed the language of the 360 dashboard to Japanese and I get Japanese writing for the demo name/description - it even changes the name of the game to Trusty Bell accordingly. But when I launch it, it still comes up in English!
Am I missing something or is this the bum deal that the Japanese are getting - game demos in English!! No wonder they are peed off with Xbox if nothing is in their own language.
