Hi there

I've just recently spend a good few hours driving between Scotland and Wales (and back again) What occurred to me was the amount of foreign cars on our roads and what would happen if they drove too fast through a speed camera - little bit of searching uncovered this:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/leicestershire/6269021.stm

Yes i know its an old link but the point is still there - also whats to stop me from jotting down the first foreign plate I see, creating the plate from any Internet car/garage web site and sticking it on my car. Couldn't I then drive through speed camera's without threat of prosecution?

I'd, also like to point out that I would never implement such an action - am simply asking out of curiosity :D

I think this is a good thing, speeding is just part of a good trip abroad isn't it?

Unless the french stop you on the E60 and march you to the nearest cash point :(

We just have to wait till Wales gets completely devolved and then we can go there and enjoy their roads and really get up the nose of that balmy chief constable.

or box you in with motorbikes and divert you off the motorway to a waiting sniffer dog and a man with a latex glove.

:( Even worse when Olivia put my work trousers pressed and clean into a brown paper bag and gaffa taped it up.

The policemans was so chuffed when he found it. Held it up for all to see then looked completely gutted when he opened it.

There was something about this recently.

The EU countries are going to start giving each other the details of the speeding cars.

That old chesnut has been floating about for years though.
