A.) Battery lasts well over ten years so unless you plan on keeping the same PC for ten years, you're sorted ;)

B.) The computer would work because normally pins 1 & 2 need to be shorted- you short pins 2 & 3 to reset CMOS so double :p :p to you :D

They don't last that long. And what if the battery's a dud?

Thats subjective, and varies between motherboards, and wont work if you only have two pins. Also what if your motherboard has a bios reset button? :p

Its all slightly problematic anyway as there are certain programs that can be used to remove bios passwords.

Damn you :o :p Anyways, as for BIOS password resetters, that would require to boot off a floppy disk I guess and if HDD is first in the boot order and there was a BIOS USER password... ;) :D
