Fork in the road - AMD/Intel

Hey,

I'm thinking of upgrading as I'm still on old DDR 1 and want to get a bit more ram. I realise that I need to change motherboard/cpu/ram.

Current-
AMD Athlon X2 4400+
DFI Lanparty Ultra SLI-DR Expert
and some standard 2GB RAM

I don't know whether to go for an AMD Phenom II TriCore 720 Black Edition or go for a Core i5. Would I see a big difference from going to either the Phenom or Core i5 from my Athlon X2 4400? And what are the advantages over the one or the other if there are any.

Hmm, comes down to how much you have to spend, and what you use the system for really.

Phenom II offers the best bang for buck. If ur not on a budget then get core i5
