how many of you guys have taken the gatehouse barriers with you?

i lost count.... worst is the fact theyre not agency drivers or foreign suppliers but our own guys.

I've managed to avoid that one so far, that said, many of the distribution centres I goto have barriers missing.

Perhaps truckers don't like them?

I had a car fork lifted once. But I knew about it. Unfortunately the guy missed and stuck the fork right through the side of the car.

Also, it caused some chassis damage, although nothing too major.

You could easily right off my car doing this so yes I'd treat it as criminal damage if it happened to me.

You said that your friends sills were damaged. Why on earth is he only calling head office?. It needs to be reported to the police as criminal damage. Say someones brake lines were damaged tomorrow and they drove down the road and ploughed 4 people down (etcetc). It should be reported, if it aint, then you're as bad as them imo.

I must admit, I often wonder if I'm going to lose it at that point!, once I get around the roundabout onto the A41, I relax as I'm only then am I absolutely sure that all is nice & safely staying where I want it to!

Apparently, somebody wrecked a Volvo recently , he wondered what the black knob on the dashboard did & pulled it..... :rolleyes:

It's an air brake dead lock - not the sort of thing you want to come on @ 52MPH!!! :eek:

Back onto the forklift truck topic, I recall a time when I lived in Lincoln, me & a mate were at Mr Moles breakers yard looking for bits for my recently recovered XR3i (kept getting stolen you see...)

Some Numpty turned up in a Cavalier SRi and wanted a new back box, they raised it up on the forks, to fit the box he'd subsequently found , with blocks of wood to keep the forks from anything vital, all looking proper.

After about 5 minutes, the forklift tipped forward without notice, dumping the Cavalier on its side. :eek:

Felt sorry for the lad but could'nt help laughing at him, he was literally in tears.
