format time for 320gb hard drive?

what is the expected standard format time (aproximate) for a 320gb hard drive

the drive is approx 3 years old and is sataII 7200rpm if that is any relevance.

i am formating via windows xp computer management

Under 1 mins for quick format. This just quickly erases everything on the hdd but the data can be recovered from it (unless overwritten)

Full format takes a couple of hours. 3 to 5 hours I assume. It makes data irrecoverable afaik.
