Need some hard drive space and Vista is giving me grief! Dual booting with XP. XP is on C: and Vista on D: - am about to format D: (right click format jobby). When i next restart will it go straight to XP instead of asking, there shouldnt be any complications right?

xp was installed first right?

i'd get your xp disc handy, you might need it to fix your boot records

you'll have to use recovery console and do..

fixboot
fixmbr

yup

probably will only have to do fixboot

but fixmbr won't do it any harm :)

Starting the Windows Recovery Console
To start the Windows Recovery Console, use one of the following methods:
• Use the Windows Setup floppy disks or the Windows CD-ROM to start your computer. At the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press F10 or press 'R" to repair.
