formatting a drive, how to?

I have 1 sata hd in my pc, its currently running the os.

I need to format it so that its completly blank. Whats my best way of going about this ?

If you want to blank it so you can sell it or skip it, use an erasing tool rather than just a format. Something like Active@ Killdisk etc plenty of utils around. Overwrites the data with 1's n 0's

ah brilliant, yea basically i have a harddisc.. i brought it , put the os on it, and then realised i ordered the wrong hd. I need to reutrn it (not to ocuk) however i need to blank it firstly.
