Formatting a HDD In Use?

I'm currently selling 2x500GB Barracudas. One of them is my primary drive.

Without another PC to link it up to, how can I erase its contents with the PC I have before sending it to the buyer?

Or I do I just delete as much personal info as I can find and leave Windows installed?

If your selling the drive then I would suggest using the likes of DBAN to fully erase all your data from the drive. You might want to get another HDD first and install your OS on it as using DBAN on your boot disk is not a good idea

You could use a windows OS CD/DVD to format the HDD with the OS on it.
