Formatting an Intel MacBook HDD

A friend of mine has an Intel Mac Book and the hard disc was partitioned to include Windows. Before he took delivery, the partition was removed but not the volume set aside. He wants to restore the original Mac and the hard disc will not accept a restart for Mac OS, from the original disc.

Good luck deciphering that, but if anyone can then I'd appreciate some help. :)

He should just be able to boot from the System 10 CD that comes with the device, it's strange that you say he can't. Try the Mac and Linux forum for more info.
 
Holding the alt key will bring up the thingy that scans for all bootable volumes :D so all he should need to do is put in the cd and reboot and press alt as soon as it makes the funny chime noise :D

Or he can use the bootcamp download from apple.com to restore the drive to 1 partition
