I've been trying to install a Crucial M500 480GB SSD drive for some extra, fast space. I'm having a problem formatting it though in Disk Management on Windows 7 Professional.
It can see the drive installed here,
So I go to New Simple Volume and complete the setup wizard with everything as default, apart from the name "SSD2"
...causing the dreaded BSOD...
I've Googled for a solution and all that comes up is to uninstall the device and, rescan and run the setup again but I get the same problem every time.
One thing that does spring to mind is looking at the drivers, they appear to be dated 2006...
...possible cause for concern there?
I've visited the Crucial support page as instructed on the box
http://crucial.com/support/ssd and tried downloading their Windows 7 Updater Application, but it looks like the file is corrupt or something and gets stuck on 3.7MB so I've no way of obtaining that either.
Any ideas?
