So its that time of year of when I've managed to fill up my hard drive with so much tat that certain applications refuse to work. Every single year I format my computer with a clean install of an operating system to match.

But before I go downloading and finding CDs with my favorite applications is there a way to keep a program when formatting? I have a fairly large portable hard drive to move stuff across too and have also Partitioned my Hard Drive to 2x 500gb.

So is there?

any programme that makes entries into the registry will not work, and at best will exhibit very odd behaviour. Something like virtualdub might store its config in an ini file within the folder, in which case a simple copy would do the trick but it's still not really worth it imho.

I notice you use steam, there is a way to make a backup so you don't have to download all the content again

Well I'm hoping to do this on the weekend. Ninute looks actually quite impressive, but with the Office Package.. if I was to enter a professional key would it download the professional package later on then?
