Formatting my intel G2 SSD

I currently have my intel G2 SSD hardrive in my PC with windows 7 on it but am wanting to move the hard drive to my laptop, do I just format it the same way as I would any other normal hard drive by putting the windows disc in?

If you simply want to do a clean install, then yes, you do it the same way as you do with an ordinary mechanical HDD, decide beforehand whether you want to run your SSD in IDE or AHCI mode and select in BIOS (AHCI is generally recommended), then boot from Win 7 DVD etc (and format will be done during install)...

If you want restore SSD to factory state, then run HDDerase v4 on it, and then do you clean install...
