Formatting my new Hdd

Morning all,continuing on from my previous thread ,windows 7 recognizes that my samsung HDD is my C drive and my Hitachi HDD is E drive.
when i go into disk management both drives are shown as healthy
Do i have to format my new disk?
at the moment it wont let me do this

It sounds like both disks are formatted and available.

Is there any reason you're wanting to format?

non really, just thought it was somethin that had to be done to optimize drive speeds,ill leave as it is for now .
