Formatting Problem

I had to format my hard drive when i put together a new pc, and after it has done the loading bar to 100% twice, it waits 15 seconds to restart, a red bar loads, then the computer restarts saying, "A disk read error has occured" - press ctrl+alt+delete to restart. i have tried with 2 different previously working hard drives.

which one did you use?

Format the partition by using the NTFS file system (Quick)
Format the partition by using the FAT file system (Quick)

tried em all, and nvm now, problem fixed, i tried a different IDE cable
