I had xp installed vista and haven't been back.

Can is simply format the xp drive and delete the xp entry in the vista boot menu. Or is there any files on the xp drive that vista uses for boot options?

I've screwed boot files before, No way do I want to do that again. But that was formatting vista. So the other way around.

Hi firewizard, this didn't work. I've magined to remove the xp one by doing the following.

bcdedit /enum
bcdedit /delete {ntldr} /f

But I still have the xp recover console that I installed on to the pc rather than just have on the xp cd. This still shows up on the vista boot screen.

Ok cool AcidHell2, sorry I wasn't able to help you out. The whole Dual Booting scenario, weather someone is looking to set one up or removing the actual configuration seems to be a right pain in the backside all the time. :p:)Ok cool

Sure is, thanks for the help, going to play a round with the partitions and add another hdd. Just downloading all my software now. Then I'll format.

Nothing worse than formatting then waiting for drivers and software to download.
