Formula 1: Drivers will ask fans about state of sport

Bit of a poor survey, but filled it in.

Select favourite decade, should have been select favourite dates, as so much change in decades. By far the best era was late 80s early 90s with the massive technology break through until they were banned.

Can't see the results being good for people who think like me, can see more artificial, same spec rubbish being highly voted.

Where drs should be banned. Introduce what ever aero rules are needed to promote close following, keep current and further reduce ICE and massively increase ERS over the coming decade. Still bring two tyre compounds but don't have to use both, get rid of having to start on qualifying tyres.

Would like to see a reverse grid race, see how well it works, don't think I would want it every race. Maybe twice a year if it was good.

I dud like the question about how much to pay for streaming, be nice if they did this.

Help to shape the future of f1

As Formula 1 drivers, we love and admire this sport. We share the feelings of fans who get excited about the purity of man and machine as we compete against the law of physics and, of course, the stopwatch. Without fans, Formula 1 would be nothing: which is why the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) wants to know more about you and what you think about the sport. We believe this Global Fan Survey will give us a unique opportunity to understand how we as drivers, and F1 as a whole, can do more for you.

The GPDA's slogan is #racingunited, and that is what we believe is needed in the future. Whether we are drivers, involved with teams, or just fans, we are all united in wanting F1 to become even more exciting. Your opinions will help us do that.

So thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey and joining the GPDA community: #racingunited

The Autosport survey is not the survey this thread is about, the link above is.

Edit: Lol, survey is down due to high demand!

1. No minimum weight of cars
2. Refuelling allowed
3. Much better tyres used and any combinations so can run slick for the entire race if wanted
4. Modify cars at any time in season
5. No rpm restriction on engines

"These 3 drivers feature in my favourite 3 drivers (pick 3)"

Nice to see the sprinklers idea get an outing again, haven't seen that one for a while. Having "corrupt" as an option for the "words that come to mind when you think if F1" was rather lol :D

Yea it's a long drawn out survey, hopefully buried in there there will be some useful information but whether it's used for any good or not is another matter.

My overriding feeling is that they asked a hell of a lot of questions, but didn't manage to really ask anything?

That was my feeling as well. No real attempt to engage with the fanbase, just some PR puffery and old chestnuts like 'hey, you guys like wet races, how about we randomly turn on sprinkler systems!?!'....

Agreed, the autosport one was actually better but still rubbish.

It all seemed to be based around how we can exploit f1, where's the boundary before people leave.

I got to 6% and lost the will to live.

same didn't seem relevant to the state of the sport.

far to many boring questions so grew tired and closed the window.

at least they managed to make the survey as boring as the races

One of the questions was something like
"are you willing to invest a lot of money following F1"
Did that come from bernie himself ?

Invest lol do I get a return on an expensive sky subscription if I buy one....

I'm surprised it didn't ask how much your house is worth and if you are prepared to remortgage to follow f1

It took a while to fill in. I don't expect them to get any useful results out of this given that the survey is so long that interest and rushed answers will start to be more prevalent in the second half of the survey.

I would say about 75% of the survey is actually of stuff they should be asking.

Will be interesting to see the raw data afterwards, but I don't expect it to get released. We will just get a 2 paragraph press statement, stating the bleeding obvious.

God, that was dull and dragged on far too much. We're not interested in Sponsors and revenue generation, we are interested in access, racing and entertainment...

Having a 5 point scale is bad enough, but a 7 point one is just retarded.

Most of the questions should have had an Agree, Disagree and No Opinion option and that's it. What's the relevance of knowing if someone slightly agrees, moderately agrees or strongly agrees with something? Are they planning to only moderately reintroduce refueling?

JB should be ashamed to have his name against that piece of garbage.

Well that was dull. Some decent bits in there, but had to sift through the drivel.

I particularly liked the questions reading along the lines of "I don't often watch F1..." - because obviously people agreeing with this would have just bothered to fill in a lengthy and boring survey about F1...
