Dont expect the world tbh. The best bit is seeing real F1 cars on the track without having to pay anything to see them!

Photo ops arent that great really. It helps if you are tall and can see over the wire fencing.

It shouldnt be too busy tbh, but this is one of the bigger testing sessions - "The Big One".

They usually make you park right outside the circuit. You can then wonder in (they usually give you a blank ticket). You can view from the Luffield corner and the 'complex' area. Its a half decent stretch. There is one open-air grandstand, the rest is concrete terraces.

There will be a burger van where you can get, you guessed it, burgers etc!

Apparently you pay £10 to get a day membership to the BRDC which will allow you to get inside the track - but I have never doen this, and I hear numbers are very limited.

Ah I see, sorry.

I have to say, the fences are a problem. However, if you get up on the grandstand, or on the top of the terraces you should be ok. You might need more length tho.

Suck it and see I guess. :)

BBC 5 day forecast says drizzle for Tues and Weds :(

I believe it kicks off around 9am.

A monopod is only realyl useful if you have a lens too heavy to handhold, such as mine! All others should be fine handheld.

Good news on the lens purchase antc! I guess you went to a local retailer?

Hey all!

Well it only rained for some of the morning ,which was good!

Teams there today were:

McLaren
Renault
BMW-Sauber
Red Bull
STR
Honda
Williams

No Midland F1 - maybe they will be there tomorrow.

I took around 650 pics. Most of them are pretty naff tbh, but some I am happy with - samples to follow shortly. I will proably do a proper thread after tomorrow's session.

It was busier than I've seen it before, both in terms of people and also teams.

I left at lunchtime (having got there at 10ish) partly due to boredom, and partly due to the fact I am going tomorrow. I was by myself too, which didnt help - lonely Joe!

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow.
