Fortnite help needed badly

OK, please help me from throwing my phone off a wall trying to find the answer this question...

If I upgrade my sons Switch to the new 1.1 model how do I transfer all his fortnite purchases?

Will they be automatically there when we login to his nintendo account?

As you've probably guessed - I haven't a clue what I'm talking about!!!

I'd imagine they just transfer and are tied to his account.

It should just be a case of installing Fortnite on the switch and logging into his account. Even if you link accounts from PC/PS4/XBONE/Switch/Mobile from device to device it should show all his purchases and progression.

Switch to to switch would be fine, but from memory you can’t link accounts across all platforms.
