****Forums to close****

I think this is perfectly plausible and I don't see what problem people are having with believing this. If maintenance needs to be done, it needs to be done.

Now if anyone needs me i'm going to be in my 13th century castle in Norway, I won it on the Ukranian lottery the other day and haven't had chance to move all my stuff in yet.
 
This could be a double bluff, they announce it on April Fools knowing that no one will believe them then BAM, 3/4/09 you come to the forums and they are down! Funny!

did you have to enter the lottery, or did the news arrive in one of those fabulous little envelopey things like mine did?
 
I must admit I will laugh when the forums do close on the 3rd.... :D



*wanders off to try and count if this is a triple or quadruple bluff*
 
I've started using these forums a lot more recently. I think I would die if they closed. O.o

Nice time to post this to us though, 1/4/09 hmmm....
 
I bet you anything the real April Fools joke is that it WILL close down on the 3rd, after making us all think the announcement was an April Fools joke. :D

I heard on the radio this morning that the guardian was going to be the first daily paper to switch fully to publishing on the internet site twitter.

I was sleepy but even then it only took a few seconds to realise it must be april 1st already :)
 
Heh, knew what it was as soon as I saw the thread title :) Liking a few of the ones flying around in papers etc tho :)
 
Interesting as I browsed Motors I thought I wonder what they've posted in GD today? I bet its something about the forums closing.

TBH if you really wanted to scare people, you should have said it was to close at 6PM tonight, and then really close it - and then open it up at 11:59PM and profit with the various messages that appear :)
