Forums unresponsive more and more lately?

Is it just me or is the forums getting more and more unresponsive and not loading for a min or 2 or certain subforums hard to get into for some weird reason?

Getting it a lot recently,

Either it takes ages to load, or just doesn't and i get a "database error".

The Hamsters are coming up for retirement soon (read imminent death from overwork) and trying to source suitably overclocked replacements is proving problematic

Yup same. Think their db is a bit under nourished in RAM or I/O from the errors I see with db connection failures. Either that or the forum just needs a decent cleanup in the DB or something is running in the background on the server messing up connectivity (backup?).
