Forwarding a domain on Vidahost

Hi,

I have a domain registered on Vidahost. The www record points to an app on Google App Engine, however the 'naked' domain currently points to my old web hosting, which I am planning on getting rid of.

Google do not allow you to point a naked domain at a hosted app, so, at the moment, I perform a 301 redirect to the www record in the .htaccess file on my old host.

Is there a way to do this automatically? I know you can on GoDaddy but I'd prefer not to move if I don't have to.

Whilst it's not "officially" supported, you should just be able to point the root A record to the IP that ghs.google.com or whatever record you're pointing the www. resolves to. Obviously, you'd have a problem if Google ever stop using that IP for whatever reason.
