Forza 2 bored yet?

I'm not bored but I have a large beef with part of the game.

Career mode.

To win gold you need to at least create a car near the top end guy to compete unless you're playing on dumb AI or are a driving god.

In almost every race you're only competing against the top 2 cars. Can someone tell me the point of putting a 1960's car up against a 2006 model?

I just don't get it. Surely a lot of fun in racing is fighting you way through traffic that is closely matched? Sure you can give yourself a crap car and fight but the point is still there. No balance on what you put on the track and always up against 1 or 2 oppenents.

People need a controlled challenge. Giving us the option to put a 999BHP monster upainst 7 200 bhp cars is bloody stupid. The game should balance based on your choice of car within the rescritions of the race and then give you 7 oppenents based on the AI you choose that are evenly matched to you.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

I admit I was getting a little bored of the game in multi-player after having a session in which there would be at least 2 idiots who would go all out to ruin the race for everybody else.

I fell in love with it again when I set up a closed room for friends to race in, we had a great time with really close races.

some of the tracks are just pure tedium now ( im on lvl 22/23) and a couple of the cars are absolute ***** (shelby 500 and dodge prize car - cant think which one, gold coloured , where both really annoying to drive)

Also I have a feeling that there is some trickery going on, ie - there are some off track tarmac areas which you cant go faster than about 10kph which is just stupid , and the penalties are completely unrealistic - yeah if you get a racing advantage by cutting a corner, apply a penalty, but when you drift off the side of the road and get 10s penatly for being off about 2s and a racing /performance loss it just gets silly

The AI /Catchup is also attrocious

I just hope I find some more fun cars /tracks

the other thing is prizes arent seeminly relevant at all to what you are driving or the next set of races - its just seemingly random

Yeah but i suppose you really should be jumping about class to class finding events that suit your cars. But I'm anal and do them in order :D

I tried to do them in order, but quickly realised that I'd have to start buying my own cars, and not relying on ones you win..

There must be some way through the career mode that makes it less painful..

I just realised there are some 'stock production car' races, which I just saw after I'd modded my cars.. I'll have to sell some upgrades to return those to stock!!!..

It's just so Random at times.. I though after winning the Nissan R390 GT car, that I'd have a go at the bloomin Nissan Challenge which requires you own/mod some uber Nissan to stand a chance against the 's15 special' the AI has.. thinking, perfect the R390 has a higher PI, that'll do.. but no way, that's when I blew 120,000 modding the GTR34 to U999 960+BHP with all the trimmings.. way OTT but perhaps it may come in handy on-line...

Its the same with the GT games for me. Months of OMFG OMFG OMFG before its released. I get it, hammer it, love it then all of a sudden I can't be bothered with it  Might get Flatout or Dirt to mix it up a bit even though I said I wouldn't :o

i completed the game without buying one single upgrade or mucking about with any of the ingame tuning options. It doesn't really say much about the game when all you do is goto the Auction House and buy a cheapo upgraded car and just flatten the AI drivers with it no matter how bad it handles

The Gulstrand Corvette??, probably the one your talking about i would imagine. Yes that car is a ****'ing pain in the bum, i have it tuned with everything and yet i still cant seem to beat the blue car, whatever it is on the new york ractrack...plus it flippin sucks when it comes to handling...i mean FFS im getting wheel spin at nearly 100mph:eek::(. Cant wait till i finish off those races, then ill sell the stupid car to get some credits back.

I do that anyway (jumping around) but surely it should be in some kind of order, I mean moving from an easy car to drive to a much more difficult class and then back again is personally why it gets more boring faster (as you have to keep on going back to "lesser" cars after a few races)

Yep thats the one thank you - and it what you said was a compliment to how I found it hahahaaha

I must admit i am a bit bored on it too, there is only so many times i want to race Tsukuba, Laguna Seca and that malaysian track.

I was gutted to find only 1 ribbon for NYC too. i thought that was a bit cheap of them, i expect that will make up the first batch of DLC.

I started playing DiRT and after its initial hardness gets out the way, it seems like it may actually be a bit more fun :)

early twenties and just done the first endurance, levelled up loads from that win.

Can see me losing interest soon, cant be bothered to do all the in between ones. Went endurance as soon as i got 20

Being a dunce probably - but what do you mean about "1 ribbon"?

Will have to try an indurance race, hopefully be able to find one for my Golf :D

Yeah you will there's an endurance race for each class. You can strip the golf back down and add upgrades to do the endurances races in each class.

Anyone have an R2 class american car and a decent V12 Lambo or ferrari upgraded they wanna load me for an hour tonight. Dont wanna spend a fortune upgrading the ones I already have :D

I've taught my wife to set up endurances races while I'm away so I can have her rack me up some credits ;)

Sorry, although you may have 1 track, such as silverstone, you can get multiple track layouts and iirc these are called ribbons. So silverstone has 3 ribbons i think, and NYC only has 1, whereas i am sure in Forza 1 it had quite a few.

NYC in Forza 1 had two layouts IIRC, short and long. Both highly tedious with huge long straights, so the race was dependent on two things: whose car was quickest in a straight line and making sure you didn't brake for corners either a second too late or a second too early. Do either of those things and the race was lost... such fun.

Ohhhh ok thank you for explaining that, makes more sense.

If you do a track "backwards" even though its the same layout, is this still a 2nd ribbon?

hmm event BHP limits are required.

same with GT4. (nd GT5).

ive said this for a while and stick to it. the end user cannot be trusted to make it a fair race, so force him to attain a certain power, or even Power/Weight ratio and force the user to upgrade the suspension, transmission, and actually focus on the handling and driving/racing the cars!!

ah well ill stick to GT4 and racing up those A-Spec points1
