Forza 2 Update 24-12-06

Indeed, that was horrible - it was like a chore, just happy to scrape through it.

Some of the simple ones like taking a hairpin I'd try again and again to perfect the technique but full laps are for sadists.

Where else can you track race
Ferrari Porsche Lamborghini

Who cares what it looks like! If it runs at 60 fps, has full damage, good net code and decent physics then I am going to be in heaven...Gran Turismo what?!

Does anyone want a game that looks incredible but grinds along at 30fps or that has a poor online mode and retarded AI..no.

Considering this is a development team that is totally passionate about cars, the fact that they have worked closely with Bizarre Studios in the past and have even designed a wheel to take advantage of the game, I think its fair to imagine that Forza 2 should offer a good level of control and feel besides the original wasnt too bad to start with in the control department, if anything lacking the now added bonnet cam.

Please also be aware that at turn10 studios they have several setups compromising of full wheel configurations offering the best the PC industry has to offer (GTR GTR2 Grand Prix Legends). Specific testing was done on these to gain information for development and to use for comparisons.

60 fps, 4x full-screen anti-aliasing, motion blur, and high-dynamic-range lighting. All in crisp 720p high-definition glory

Yet some assume it wont look good.

I think it will be more fun to enjoy real online races.

Ive got some incredible battles with very close racing and the lead changing at least 4 times in 3 laps saved as a replay on my X360 from PGR3
PGR3 though is very flawed with spinning too easily on small contact and cheaters not being punished.
Forza 2 will stop corner cutting and offer a fair online system. Besides with damage you can now wreck your own car if trying an "un gentlemen like manovure"

I would though like to see the "GLITCH SHIFT" removed if anything offer a system that rewards proper gear changes with a little boost just like GOW does with active reloads. You know smething with an onscreen indicator to notify if you timed it right.

Also if offering such a feature to allow or diss-allow it in online matches

Good idea or bad?

I think they stated that the Shift-glitch would not be possible in Forza2.Although i never got into Forza1 that much myself,i was more into PGR2+3,i'm glad to hear it as it was cheating in my opinion.I wouldn't have minded if they put a little icon to show who was gliching on the scoreboards so i could see what times i should be aiming for.

Heres a good article many of you may not of read...

Dan Greenwalt

Them mentioning the TrackIR has got me thinking if the xbox camera would be able to track head movements similar to motion capture. If they could implement this into future games it would be amazing.

You can list all those magical effects, but you can add all those to Quake 1 and it'll still look pants. The screenshots do look very good, but you seem to be a little stuck going round in circles trying to defend this game just because a few people don't think it looks totally amazing. Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting it to be a great game, and am hoping it lives up to its hype.

lol why?! ...

Massive plastic frames in between the full picture. What's the point in buying 3 flat screens when you could buy one big one? Even 2, i'd rather have a 30 inch screen than 2 20's.

The point I was making was rather than people just jumping in just to say 'its crap' they should actually say why. Thank you :p

It's probably more immersive with several screens though. With a larger screen, you instinctivey just end up sitting slightly further back - games are designed to be viewed from a certain distance after all, so that the perspective matches up - whereas three smaller screens showing more of the game, and a nice surround sound, would add so much more.

It's a costly gimmick (one way beyond my means), and one that doesn't actually change the game in any significant way, but I think it's still pretty cool nonetheless.

Because it uses 3 different angles for the front, left and right. You can't get that with one big screen.

Im not trying to defend anything, PGR3 is still a great looking game we know this will be better. Having all those features and maintaining 60FPS in my book is very impressive and considering this is their (turn 10) first attempt on the system shows how far the programmers have come along since PGR3.

Is their even a PC racing game that wil look as good (okay higher res perhaps) but better, its a major achievement for a console even forgetting the multiview options?

i tend to find that not making a big deal out of a game e.g. like gears of war or graw
will actually make you more impressed with the game itself, instead of having this MASSIVE amazing game in your head and then when you sit down to actually play the game its like "OMFG LOL this is ****"

On the original Forza you could pan around the car, or look in a diaganol or sideways when incar or bumper cam. Basically what the multiscreen shows at once is the view you would get if changing your view to

11 oclock / 12 oclock /1 oclock

Forza 1 also had 2x buttons on the controller that offered a rear view mirror, the reason it offered two is that one of the views would actually show looking back over ALL 3 screens while the other ony would show the single, centre screen. I have videos of it in action but they are too big to upload, the point being made is its worth seeing and enjoying even if you do have to group up with some mates to give it a try.

F1 on the PS3 was demonstrated at one time to use a PSP as a rear view camera but it wasnt explained what was required to do this, i guess developers are looking more into gimmicks to help promote their games.

My guess is if i was at a car show and i seen a display with racing seat 3x 50" Plasmas and wheel all together it would make me pay attention to the game. Yes it can be a commercial presentation factor too but the fact its actually in the game is pretty good.

Shame that the dreamcast didnt offer such a facility considering how cheap these can be picked up for now.
