Forza 3?

Currently playing a hell of a lot of Forza 2, started the other day and am just making my way through all the race (although not started the endurance ones yet, they dont look fun aka 45 laps ) but it is most definitely the best racing game i have played

Ive done two, both times I just sat on the phone chatting to a mate whilst in 'autopilot' mode.

Its a shame it's no repetitive as I do enjoy it.

Well that's not "playing" the game now is it.

Try driving through the whole thing like one is supposed to do. I've done every enduro manually (manual gears) and also unaided, it's well worth it especially the 45 lappers . . .

Seems a bit of a waste of a game to get it and letthe computer do the work for you, don't you think ?

Autopliot mode is similar to when I'm sat on the M40 on handsfree ;)

For me Forza 2 was boring as not enough tracks and very very repetitive. Got sooo bored after completing 60% didn't have the will to carry on! Did enjoy the online auctions though!

Just didn't have enough variation in the game for me..

Well, by definition, Racing is repetitive . . What do you expect when you go a round a track upteen times . . .changes ?

Come on, Repetitive" is the new IN word with gamers these day and is simply used when they really have no idea what to say or are poor gamers not willing to putthe time and effort in playing a game as it was designed.

News flash . . .Forza 2, Race Pro, etc are "RACING" games, not social days out with the kids as you drive around the country side, or a game where you can have freeroaming, pick street races and look at nice visuals on buildings and scenery.

Racing games are about finding "the line" and sticking to it, trimming 1000ths of seconds off your time each lap, and learning to take opponents WITHOUT knocking them off the track or smashing them into walls or using them as cushions on corners so you can get in front.

If you took an attitude that you were trying to better your times, reflexes and abilities, then you might just learn what real racing games are about . . .

And if you think there are not enough tracks, then Race Pro will bore you to tears . . .as will Grid, Colin McRae DiRT etc etc. All games that are based on real-world race tracks . . and there are only so many good real world race tracks worth sticking in a game.

Forza has the same type of race several times over, Im in the lead by the first lap and then its just like F1. A procession.

Just needs a bit more variety IMO

Well i have still got loads to do on it so it should keep me going for a couple of weeks (going back to old games and trying to finish them :D)
Surely this game is easy for achievements if your lazy, just hire a driver and let them win all the races for you if your lazy?

Amen.

The problem with Forza is it is easy to tune the car up to silly spec and leave hte opposition in the dust in SP, but in Multiplayer with the right people it's all down to tune and setup, which I found a bit alienating.

On hardest settings I couldn't do the single car no tuning championships, the AI just bully you if you brake marginally too early into a corner and shove you off. Really infuriating.

That said, I do miss Forza. I sold my 360 last year and now I want another just to pick up and have a play.

Then stay in your "Class" and stick the AI Difficulty on maximum and then try it. Try racing the cars to the class specs, not a full blown heavy hitter in the American Iron section where youcan run Custom speced items against stock items.

Pick races in SP where you can only race within your class as see how it goes. Especially in places like The 'Ring and in cars like the GT40, AC Cobra Jet. They are a handful at the best of times, but when the AI is ramped up, and your cars are ALL THE SAME, see how much variety that gives you. You'll be doing the races over and over again until you can at least pull a place or win.

Try using a D or C class car that fits into a B class or even an A class race, which means you have to tone down the wheels, tyres and airodynamics in order to stay in the class.

Sure, you can build monsters, but what's the point if you can only race (operative word being 'race') then against cars that you'll leave behind at the start line. There's no 'challenge' in that at all. The challenge is when they are all evenly pitted against each other.

So race in the Porsches in the R Classes starting (on the ring which is just great btw) at the Lower end (R4's) and work your way up to the R1. And uin the R1's with the AI set to max, tell me it's easy and I'll buy a plane ticket and come sit on your head (jk actually).

Come on ppl, are you gamers or just wet blankets. There are those who love the challenge to race against an even field. If you want to clip times off to get the best lap ties in the leaderboards,

By all means use your best car for that track (class specific) and race much slower cars, but you still have to deal with traffic as you work your way through so you can drop that time to work your way up theglobal leaderboards.

And you'll be doing it again, again, again and again until you trim 100th off which could move you up a hundred places on the leader board. That's what "Racing games" are about. Not hitting the nitros and blurring past everyone at a million MPH. That's just fan car racing, not Simulated racing.

Get inthere and have some fun, and work on those times, Here's a link for my cars I've painted (http://oxcgn.com/forza-motorsport-2/forza-2-vehicle-image-page/), and if anyone wants a duplicate, either tuned or just painted, let me know and I can set you up with one. The Red Mustang hangs on like grim death, especially at Mapleleaf.

The Lexus Police 360 "flys" in A and higher classes as well.

Shifty, if you didnt like forza, have you tried GRID?

Awesome arcade style racing game.

When set on higher difficulty, and when you've got the Global Licence, it can be very very demanding indeed. Especially in the Prototype and GT classes.

It's not for the faint-hearted up in the upper areas.

The idea is NOT to use the replay, and in do it in career when youhire a driver. You have to chose the right one, and you might have to go through a few to find one with the right amount of "aggression" and yet still plays ball with the team.

I've just finished several more hours on it today, and there are a few races I've simply have to quite and will go back to, as the pace is just unforgiving.

The only two things I dislike about GRID is

1) . . No Replay Save

2) . . No Picture mode for take photos in the replays etc.

I don't mind the limited number of tracks, that's haf the fun, nor the limited number of vehicles ( I only have 2 more to get, but need another $40mil to get them) So I have to do the Driving Offers in order to build up the bank balance.

It's a cross between a sim and an arcade game really, where damage is taken into consideration, and a huge sense of realism is there. The AI is not friendly and will not simply let you win, especially on the highest levels and difficulty setting.

I'm just lousy at Drifting, as I've been taught thatthe handbrake is a no-no in racing, and only used in Rally and for parking the car, but NOT is full on circuit racing. Race Pro doesn't even have a handbrake . . you heard that here first btw . . NO HANDBRAKE in Race Pro!!!!

OMG. the game sucks, no handbrake, OMG!!! . . . heheheheh I can just hear it now.

Forza 2's car physics can be tweaked to near perfection to make your cars handle like a dream according to your personal taste and driving style.

You have to remember that tuning itself is not an exact science, especially if you dont have a clue about tuning cars in the first place.

While Forza 2 has a pretty comprehensive set of driving assists its still requires a certain amount of skill to navigate around a track at high speeds without too many errors, regardless of what setting you put it on.

Turn 10 did include a handy hire driver feature in Forza 2 I guess for those who find the SP to challenging or dont have the patience to do the endurance races.

Hopefully Forza 3 will have built upon this feature, while some say its useless I actually enjoyed using it in some instances.
