It's quite hard for everyone to brake at the right points.
Most of my cars are really good at braking, so I tend to brake really late into corners. But even braking late wont save you from someone who doesn't know when to brake, as they'll just run into the back of you because they misjudged the braking point.
I get stuck behind people a lot and it's hard to pass, because most people are driving faster cars than me. My tuned cars are set up to go round corners well, rather than for straight line speed. This makes it really tough to get past some people as I'm constantly having to ease off and brake to avoid hitting anybody as they go round the corner really slowly, then once the corner ends they just breeze off into the distance, until the next corner.
Everyone just has to learn to brake a little earlier if not sure and try their utmost to avoid contact, as well as giving each other space.
On the tracks I don't know (which is most of them) I screw up braking points quite often, but it usually only takes one lap for me to work out when I should be braking.
It's still hard to avoid contact, especially when there are 5+ cars hurling themselves into the first corner.
