Forza 4

Managed to get all my DLC working in the end. It just took a while to pick up that I'd added it.
Loving the game so far, done a few races in SP but mostly just tried out different cars in free mode to see how they are. The SSC Ultimate Aero sounds brutal!

The affinity stuff gives some huge benefits, more than expected. I've done 3-4 races in a Toyota Supra and now I have complete free upgrade parts from Toyota!

Agreed; I've seen a few people say it's too easy now that you get 100% discount so readily but that makes it easier to tune more competitively etc.

What's the disc printing like on the collectors edition is it smooth or unbalanced screen printed layers like FM3? Presumably it uses the new storage format with extended spin up even though installed.

Is anyone having trouble with the leaderboards not updating? I have just posted a fairly decent time in the Kia around the top gear test track and it didn't upload and only has the poor attempt that I posted last night?

The game is excellent, far far more polished and refined than the demo.

what set up are most people using for steering , I started with sim but finding if I get a car sideways and try to correct it the car snaps quite hard. is sim more designed for wheel users?

Hope my shifter isn't broken I'll have to check the cables and stuff, might be a good excuse to order the new clubsport shifters :).

i use "normal" its next to impossible to correct a car with a "sim" steering.. you need a wheel for that and with controller i recommend you stick with normal

I've been using Simulation steering on the pad and not really had much trouble. It's certainly tougher to control light weight shifting, but it's not that bad and I prefer to have more control than have things assisted to death.

I would like to fully disable the ABS too, but having to be sensitive with the left trigger and the left stick at the same time is wearing out my hand after prolonged play, so I'm keeping that at the first level of assistance for now.

Have everything else disabled, don't use the clutch on the pad. Very glad I can disable rewind mode, racing just doesn't feel right with that.

Enjoying Rivals mode the best so far, but wish there were more pre defined time trial modes with the same stock cars. The tuned time trial boards have never been that fun as they always end up dominated by dodgy suspension/aero glitches and specific cars.

Hopefully they'll add more of them as time goes by.

That's a rather obscure question!

I guess it is when I put it like that. I just don't like the noise and vibration caused by the printing on the FM3 disc. Thankfully it's brief when installed, but how does it work with FM4? From what I can see the same method was used on the Ultimate Edition recently and FM4 seems to have the same design once again.
