Forza 4

Much better with collisions off.

It's most likely not cravin peanuts fault he's lagging, but at least with collisions off the lag doesn't destroy us.

Not sure what Janesy is up to, but three races in a row deliberately taking me out is a bit too much.

I apologise for the contact on the Tsukuba hairpin Maccy, I did slow down after the corner to let you have your position back, but you seemed more intent on pushing me off as revenge! After that Janesy decided to take me out on the final corner (again) so that was the end of the race for me.

Janesy, I'm not sure what I did to deserve you playing destruction derby with my car. The only thing I can think of is the contact on the Nordschleife, where you slammed the brakes on for a corner which doesn't require braking, causing me to run into the back of you. I was already lifting off and cruising slowly round that corner to avoid a collision should you decide to ease off (it's essentially a flat out corner).

Judging by the way you behaved after that race, I can only assume you slammed the brakes on deliberately and was annoyed over something else I did in a prior race.

If there is any contact for which I am at fault, I always slow down to try and balance it out. I'm not interested in racing unfairly or in an unclean way.

All evening I've raced cleanly, but none of us are pro's and contact can happen. The best way to avoid this is to slow if you run into someone and let them back past you (if you overtook them as a result of the collision).

Anyway, I enjoyed the racing tonight, shame more people weren't on.

Alright Janesy messaged me, seems it was really just a bit of messing around!

I don't mind that, but I guess I was expecting clean racing and to suddenly be rammed all over the place was a bit annoying.

Shame there's no text typing like in GT5, could have easily arranged some more contact oriented races/modes :p

Was a lot of fun anyway, need more people!

Sorry guys, you can only ask your house mate so many times to stop downloading torrents. Some good races, although the lag certainly made it interesting.

Not your fault, I'll just switch it to ghost mode sooner next time.

I just figured you had a bit of packet loss or something and it'd go away.

It was quite entertaining seeing you fly around though!
If we used our headsets I suppose we could communicate better, but a destruction derby type race would be fun!

I think as far as destruction derby goes, it's best left in a game like Flat Out, where it's a lot of fun and fits with the scenario :p

However, there are modes in F4 that kind of condone it or promote it, such as cat & mouse or virus.

Yeh on a more serious note, agreed.
Do you not have a headset? I wasn't keen on the whole M3 races last night, would be good if it could be sort of democratic to choose track and race criteria?

If I can drag myself away from Uncharted 3, and resist the temptation to put in MW3, I might be on for a bit tonight :)

Got one with the 360, but not really bothered about using it.

If I had a choice I'd sooner use a PC based VOIP solution, comes out a lot clearer and it's easier to hear who's talking without the voices interfering with in-game sound.

Sad to hear you weren't keen on the M3's, a bit of same car racing is always fun and those cars handle brilliantly. I've had a lot of fun doing the same on GT5, it's very competitive.

I generally tried to pick a variety of good tracks and decent car limits. For example I chose S classes on Road America and A classes on Silverstone since they are more open, faster circuits and I left the D/C/B classes for the tighter, shorter circuits.

For me it's a lot about having close races and Forza's engine is best suited to slower speed cars rather than ultra fast ones.

Same car racing is a lot of fun anyway, as often there are people who don't quite have competitive cars tuned to certain limits. Although I do tend to love a bit of the high powered monster on the straights struggling in the corners against underpowered lightweights.

Did some rivals autocross today.

Managed to get the 263rd best time on Laguna Seca, despite mis-shifting and putting the car in reverse on the last corner, costing me a bunch of seconds :D

They were indeed playing up, I think it happens quite a lot on weekends due to lack of capacity.

Shame Turn 10 aren't as fast at sorting out problems as Polyphony were, despite GT5 being their first outing into the online world, where as Turn 10 should have plenty of experience by now.

Not sure if its common knowledge, but Sainsburys have this on offer the moment @ £29.99, picked mine up last night :D now to get on the waiting list for the OCUK club.

Found myself getting bored of this game already, once I got past level 50 and stopped getting prize cars I lost interest. Shame as I thought it was going to be epic and I'd play it as much as I did FM3, which I played for near enough a year most days of the week.

Ah well, at least BF3 keeps me occupied :p
