if you're using a pad, swap the clutch and handbrake so the clutch is A. then you just press two buttons instead of one with your thumb on each gear change.
 
Got a top 50 time on one of the Auto Cross stages and it didn't save because the servers went down, sadface.

Turn10 have been pretty poor with this, considering their experience of online play in Forza games. Polyphony outdid them on their first go.

Im using a Fanatec TurboS with the Clubsport pedals, i think its the combination of flappy-paddle gear change and clutch pedal that confuses my brain... And i just cannot get a decent position on my driving sim frame to mount the shifter comfortably.
 
Some more decent Autocross times delivered, 3 in the top 50.

I think I can still do better, but I've not yet been able to get near the finish on an 'all out' lap as I keep getting afraid of hitting cones.

Bags of fun, wish they'd add more autocross courses though.
 
Hi I have played for about a week when forza was first released now i have gone back to the game and i wish to change the gamma It is much to bright but if i remember correctly you only have this option when you first start the game,any way to change in game with out starting over ? I have searched the options but no joy.

Milk Rivals mode. Beat a good time and you can make 150k for a few laps work. Make sure you *only just* beat them, and you can go after someone a couple of places above and make another 150k...

I've not been trying to make money, yet after a couple of months of general racing I've raked enough credits in to do the Ferrari Collector achievement, and that's about 20 million worth. 2 years work never netted me enough credits for a 250GTO on Forza 3...

It's a lot easier to pull in credits on FM4. The level and affinity bonuses are a big money spinner and, as said, if you are good enough to get some good times on rivals then you can make loads of money.
 
As said the cash from Levelling and Affinity is very good, i believe i was earning 300k+ per level at about lvl130-150... once you hit the cap at Level 150, you have to then rely on Affinity and Rivals. Today i was focusing on the Monthly Auto Cross stage, which I knew i hit 3 cones on my first attempt, i repeated the course about 10 times, slowing before the final gate to just beat my rivals time and earning 150k a bash.

I got an XBL message from a mate the other day crowing that he beat a rivals time of mine. He obviously didn't spot that I braked on the line to lose two seconds at the end. A couple of clicks and I'd beaten him again. :D

I think I'm getting around 270k per player level at the moment (around 115).

Ok thanks, Ill give it a bash in rivals mode. Im not really playing for the money anyway its just nice to have so you can get what you want xD.
 
I'll be on and off looking for some stock car oval racing if anyone fancies joining me.

Tried yesterday and first race I got punted off at the widest part of the track when making a clean overtake with 6 car widths between us... Need people who like to finish races!
