Forza 6 announced

I'm enjoying the game, especially as it's the 1st Forza I've played since 4. But I'm getting frustrated with a LOT of leaderboards being swamped by that mini... Some have said the X1/9 is similarly bugged, but not to the same degree. I know it shouldn't matter as you should be competing against the field you're racing, but it's annoying that you can't trust leaderboards, if only to get an idea where you stand against friends and others and only brings about the "can't beat them, join them" mentality.

I am going to be playing single player exclusively till T10 fix this rubbish although I do not hold much faith. I remember how long it took them to fix the Elan in Forza 2! I wish they done away with drive train swaps as nine times out of ten you get glitched cars. Online Lobbies are more like Le Mans at the moment. You have one pack of cars racing that are mini's and the rest of the field racing between themselves!

Played the demo for a bit last night. I was really starting to loathe the handling, I was on the second race and using the RX7, it didn't matter what I did speed wise, however I tried to attack corners i would understeer off the circuit and onto the grass! I finished that race in 2nd and moved onto the next. The Yas Marina was worse for this due to the super long straights and 45 degree sharp turns. I had a play with the settings and turned the steering to simulation, which made it a lot better and realistic. I could brake hard and encourage overteer and point the front towards the apex more.

Has anyone else found this?

The RX7 in the demo didn't have the best race tune on it, the s2000 was much better build for a RWD car IMO.

Did you give yourself full range on the analogue controls too? Dead zone's in advanced settings to 0 and 100 for steering, brakes, accelerator.

I use a controller, with no assists, manual with clutch (button swapped to A) but normal steering. Sometimes sim steering too.

The thing i've found in previous Forza's is it's fine in career, but online if you get hit lightly by another car it's hard to recover. With normal steering you would barely even notice and carry on racing as normal. I've not tested this in FM6 yet though, things might have changed.

That Skyline in AWD conversion? Noticed you weren't slipping out at all.

r34 GTR's are AWD stock :) that one is the fast and furious edition one, haven't changed a thing on it! it was slipping about quite a bit tbh! not as bad as a RWD car but you do need to concentrate or you'll go wide and into the grass.

I must be thinking of another one then, the Skyline I drove last night span like wildfire..

weird, swear every single one since R32 were AWD config! before that there was RWD but those are classics and I think only 2000GTR is on forza 6.. unless you got a random special/tuned edition with a RWD conversion

For those with project car and a thrustmaster TX, how does the game play compare? I don't get much playing time, so even though i've had project cars from basically release it still feels almost new. I was planning on getting F1 2015 as my next racing game, and probably still will to be honest.

I know PC has had a lot of bad reviews based on small issues and the controls using the pad. But on the TX I find it really good. I was also really disappointed with forza 5 (i basically bought the XB1 for this game), and the game play on Horizon 2 seemed a lot more acrade style which i didn't enjoy.

it's far from bad tbh :) you've got two main bugs at the moment with TX that I have experianced -;

button layout - randomly, layout changes from layout 1 to layout 4 so shifting etc is just hard/random and requires a restart of the race.
FFB forces all to the left - this is a much bigger issue, randomly(every 30 minutes or so) the game decides that there is no "right" and sends both right/left FFB forces to the left side of the wheel as you can imagine this results in an uncontrollable mess. - THIS MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY MY OLD 48xx FIRMWARE, UPDATED YESTERDAY WILL HAVE TO TEST IT OUT NOW - but a few users on fm6 forums have reported this.

pCars has way more adjustemenet/fine tuning etc and IMO it is one of the better games when it comes to FFB so don't expect forza 6 to be as good, it is not bad tho and I totally enjoy the game :) - once the bugs are ironed out it'll be even better.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

I will end up buying Forza 6 at some point, just it seems there is little point at the minute with the amount of time i actually have to play the game and already having project cars and wanting the new F1 game. Just wanted to make sure this wasn't a level above Project Cars before discounting it.
