Forza Horizon 5 - Mexico

Used to think I was decent at FH5 ... now I'll go back to playing MS Solitaire.

Bit late to the party but I uninstalled FH5 a long time ago. I'd be interested in playing these custom fun looking stunts etc. How do you access these in the game ? Thanks

I still play, though it's limited to a once a week hour or so to do the weekly/monthly stuff. I usually end up trying to pick a really obscure car or tune something different to other people for the Trial and make it fun for myself.

I tend to play a few minutes each day to get the daily wheelspin and to do the daily challenges. Every Thursday I'll spend a bit of time doing the races and maybe finish them off on Friday/Saturday then spend the rest of the week doing the daily challenges. I don't spend as much time as I used to on the previous FHs.

Iv recently got this on pc via gamepass does it always optimize your pc at the start of every time you load the game?

It seems to take 5 minutes for this to optimize which is pretty annoying.

It'll be shader compilation, it should only need to do it after a game/graphics driver update. If it's doing it every single time then something's wrong somewhere.

It's currently 50% off on Steam, is the game worth it?

It's been a while since I played a racing game (a couple decades really, last was NFS:Most Wanted I think), it this fun to play? Looking for a chill game, not interested in the competitive side (if it exists)

I'd say so... But I would say that as I've clocked up an insane amount of hours on it.
Don't go out of you way to buy DLC though... Car packs and hot wheels are 'meh'.. The rally expansion is decent though. If you like rally.
The game throws so many cars at you that there's no point buying car packs unless you really want to.

Cheers, might give this a go then. It looks like there are a million DLC's lol. I think I'll just get the Standard Edition.

How's HDR looking, is it any good?

I'd say HDR is good, it looks better with HDR on rather than off, IMO. It's not a super demanding game in the grand scheme of things, so looking at the spec in your sig you should be able to run it fully maxed out without frame gen or anything.

You might want to exeriment with anti-aliasing though, I find TAA looks best but I'm running an AMD GPU, so YMMV.

Yeah with the DLCs hteres only 2 map expansions, the rest is just car packs or individual cars.

You really don't need any additional cars to be competetive, and there's weekly races & challenges that gift you free rare cars anyway for winning.
The biggest thing is making sure you have the right tuning setup for a particular car/race/challenge. You can make your own tunes or simply select a player made tune

There's kind of an extended tutorial to get into the 'hall of fame' doing that, and '3 starring' everything will open the game up properly, and you'll also get a bunch of free cars as prizes along the way.

Finally got to play this properly (perhaps played the demo I think!?) and honestly it's kinda mid. At least that's how I think the kids describe things these days anyway.

The driving and what not is fine and seems broadly unchanged from FH3/FH4 but the enviroment just seems so.....bland? I've done a few of the long races (Goliath and whatever else they're called now) and whilst it looked pretty nothing about the environment really screamed Mexico at me

It's fine I guess and will keep me amused for a bit anyway.
