Found lost phone

I have a phone sitting on my bookshelf from about 2/3weeks ago. I text them immediately after finding it in the taxi (this was ~8pm) and they told me they were in a club  So I told them either meet tonight or I'll post it. They then don't get in touch then the phone gets text messages saying I am 'a horrible person for getting their hopes up saying I would return it then not doing so.' However, I text them 3/4 times asking for the address and nothing. Now the battery is dead.

did you not make a note of the number to keep in contact after the battery died ?

To the OP

It sounds like you just want us to tell you to keep it.

1. You don't want to give it back to the owner (because he may beat you up  ).
2. The police station is too far to walk to.

Why don't you ring up the "home" number on it and ask for an address to post it to.
If you cannot afford a jiffy bag, or the post office is too far to walk or something - then either keep it or put it back on the floor where you found it.

In all fairness, I imagined they would want it asap and the fact that it had full battery at the time meant that it never crossed my mind. I'll attempt to charge it, just for their sake. Can't say I've not gone beyond the call of duty here. Over three weeks is just taking the mick. I'm surprised the battery even lasted that long.

If you think you will get beaten up by them for returning the phone (pussy) then phone the home number anyway, tell then you have handed it into the police station, therefore everybody is happy. Can't believe you had to post a thread about it though, common sense surely.

The police station is too far to walk...but surely you know someone with a car that can drop it off or give you a lift there??

Too right. This is a stupid thread.

When i lost my phone i phoned it over and over but no answer. I txt it saying £10 reward. Phoned it later and got an instant answer lol :)

I personally feel you have no right to keep that phone, it's not yours. No matter who owns the phone (chav) it's not yours to keep. How would you feel if you lost an expensive phone and someone just kept it? It's not fair. Just text or phone someone in the contacts and return it, it's the right thing to do and you know it. Karma ya know ;) You wont be beaten up for doing them a favour, it's silly! You could even send it via post!

Oughta interest what phone is it? :D

I'm not stupid enough to lose my phone and life isn't fair.

Personally i would sell it but thats just me.

So out of interest - if you were stupid enough to lose your phone, and I found it - you would be more than happy for me to sell it - rather than just ring you up and give it you back ?

Well if i had lost it i would just assume that you would sell it anyway, you can honestly say that if you lose your phone you expect a phone call from someone who's found it?

I would just block the phone and get a new one.

Once I walked past a car and there were a set of keys in the door.

When I walked past later on they were still there so I locked the car and took the keys.

I left a note on the window of the car.

After not hearing anything for a day I then got a phone call to say thanks for doing what I did.

Unfortunately, they came round my house and battered the crap out of me, broke all my fingers, my right leg and hip and also broke my neck in 5 places- just because I helped them out. Chavs!

(OK so the last part was a joke, the OP of this thread seems like a typical little geek who has no idea of the real world and cannot make any decisions for themselves, it's cool to post about finding a phone, no issues there but to be too scared to do anything with it? Get a life.)

Judging by this thread, I would say there was at least a 50% chance I would get a phone call - yes.

Contrary to popular belief, some people in this world are actually nice people.

No no no, you should have said...

Throw it in the river, that will learn them :D

If the OP is thinking that he might get beat up just for returning the phone, did he not think that picking it up in the first place might have been a bit stupid, just incase it was a setup; and were then going to jump on him?

Just another way of looking at it.
