I get this every time I start my PC, I've had it since I changed over to Vista 64 but I've never got round to asking you about it till now :)

Any ideas how to stop this coming up? No matter what option I choose - it will always appear!

Do you have all the driver CDs installed? Motherboard and expansion cards are most likely to be the culprit.

Download Driver Detective or similar, then find out what you are missing, then download it from the manufactures site, install it.

Does Device Manager just see it as "Unknown Device"?

have a look in your device manager at any items that have a yellow mark next to them (ie without drivers) and disable them.

Yeah, Device Manager sees it as "Unknown Device". It is under the Windows Sideshow bit - does that have any significance?

I'll have a look at Driver Detective.

It sees it in device manager as unknown device, it is under the heading Windows Sideshow as I mentioned above. Anyone know what this is for and if it's fine just to disable it?

According to Driver Detective I have 22 out of date drivers :s

Is there a free version which will update them for me, as with the free trial I got it doesn't update them - just tells you what's out of date :(

windows sideshow is a vista thing for using two screens (i believe)

i cant see that it will hurt to disable it (assuming your only using one monitor)

just try and see..
