Fox, 135i advice

All they are doing is putting you in touch with the dealer. You buy the car from the dealer - all they get is a £99 fee for the work. They are not buying any cars.

I know that. You try walking into a BMW dealer though with a print out saying you can get a 135i for £27k though and most will say "Sorry we can't match that". So I would use there service if I ever was to buy a new car and I think you would have real problems getting the same discount yourself.

Some of them obviously can match that, or the deal wouldnt exist as no dealers would be prepared to offer such discount. This week somebody on PH got 10.4% off an F10 at a dealer.

Really not sure what your opinion is based on?

There aren't many dealerships you can walk into and get a sizeable discount granted straight away. You will probably have to go through the whole ritual of walking out, waiting on the call with a better price, asking for a set of mats... bleh bluh bluh. You know, the whole mating dance.... only it's with a high school dropout in a cheap suit.

It'd be nice to walk into the dealership with the discount already secured.

Like I said I'm sure it does happen sometimes, I tried with 3 different dealers and none came close. I didn't stick around too long but most could only offer half or two thirds of the discount.

I'd like to know why the dealers will do it via Broadspeed, I'd assume it's something to do with the fact they don't have to spend lots of time doing to sale etc... Just one day they get an email saying someone has agreeded to purchase a new car at this price from you put the order in and let them know when it arrives. No faffing about and minimal overheads?

Broadspeed is run by the Inchcape group (or at least was) and usually put you in touch with one of the group franchises.
