Today I received my BenQ XL2730Z
Its a great monitor but my R9-280X doesnt seem to have the steam to max it.
After fiddling around I am able to get up to 82fps at 2560x1440.
I think this is down to either the GPU or the mini display port I am using.

(GPU has 2xmini-dp dvi-d & HDMI)

Assuming I cant achieve 144fps at that resolution with this card what would be the best refresh rate to go with. I like the idea of 80fps as a nice round number but 72fps would be half the monitor so should minimize any issues.

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this?

Or does anyone know how to adjust the refresh rate on a BenQ monitor?

Just managed to tweak it up to 100fps!

You can change the refresh rate by right clicking an empty space on the desktop and choosing display setting.

Then clicking advanced display settings followed by display adapter properties.

Click the monitor tab and select your desired refresh option.

You can select 144hz to get that smooth performance on the desktop. I assume you that you want to change the refresh rate so that you could lock the frames with vsync.

You are unable to use the freesync feature with your gpu sadly as this is one of it's best features.

Turn settings down in games to get your frames as high as possible and use vsync if you have to. :)
