Fps Problem

Hi ive recently purchased the Titan Spinosaur(i5) with a 6970, and my friend has the Ultima Mossasaur(i7) with a 6950, when doing a stress test i get considerably less fps im just wondering if anyone has any idea why as im totally confused.

He gets around 600 all maxed on Css and i get 390 all maxed on the same game.

Well he has a more powerful processor, and source engine is more CPU than GPU based i believe. Also, perhaps he has done some clocking?

Driver issue perhaps?

well ive downloaded the newest drivers for the card, so ive no idea :S

Try doing a full uninstall of them using drive sweeper in safe mode and then reinstalling the 11.5 drivers.

I had a similar problem when I upgraded my gfx card, ati to ati... so no nvidia in the way.

My performance was all over the place. Try running heaven 2.5 and 3dmark11... see how your system compares against other similar ones. Judge it on that.
